June is traditionally the most popular month for weddings. In the last
fifty years weddings have become more and more elaborate and expensive, from the
engagement ring, to the wedding gown, to “destination” weddings. But as weddings
have become more and more elaborate, the divorce rate has gone higher and
higher. Perhaps young couples need to spend as much time and energy preparing
for their marriage as they do planning their wedding. A wedding is a day, but a
marriage is a lifetime.
